DANCE EDUCATION IN CDS and PERFORMANCES

Generally, dance education is given by transfer of experience in community. The education of the new members that come by elections on October, is provided by the lessons that former members give systematically. In addition, all dancers take lessons from professional teachers from communities like “Ankara Devlet Opera ve Balesi Modern Dans Topluluğu” and “Dansbuluşma”  periodically.

The education of the backstage crew is also by transfer of experience. Technical lessons such as costume, light design, audio setup, decor and make-up is given by experienced members to the new members of the backstage crew. Also the opportunity of practising is given to the newcomers in shows of both CDS and other groups performing in METU.

In the end of every year, a performance is exhibited, in which new dancers of community take place, also that the new backstage crew members is involved in  carrying it on to the stage. The aim of this performance is to provide all the new members of community to gain experience before the METU International Contemporary Dance Days.
